I used to think that language is completely broken. How can we communicate if we have so many words where the meaning of each can differ so vastly depending on the context?
Isn't it amazing that we can communicate at all? That language can, in fact, be so concise?
Still, I firmly believe that some things are too simple to express in words.
Also, that most of our problems are created by our language crippling us, making it more difficult to share a good understanding and prevent miscommunication.
I don't think a higher-bandwidth communication protocol will solve our problems easier than a good, concise, well-understood language can.
How many languages do you know? Do you think that the ones that take longer to learn, are actually more powerful? Do you think that they could be?
