Dagelf - The quest for rapid text-less programming #nocode

This has been bugging me ever since I got a computer. Why is software development so tedious?

  • Can't we "help" computers become much better at it than we ever could?
  • Aren't you sick of "debugging syntax?"
  • Can't your code and documentation be one and the same?
  • Broken get's fixed - shitty lasts forever - does this ring true of our IDE's?
  • Why not put our extraodinary GPU's to use showing us how our code really fits together?
  • Is there a simple and elegant way to abstract all components of all problems in a useful manner?
  • Is this a naive pipe-dream?

I strongly believe that all the tools and components we need to achieve this is in our hands already.

We can start with something as simple as reinventing the text editor. Think something between Excel and Notepad, between a Mind-map and a drawing program.

I can talk about this subject for ages. Suffice it to say, I intend to add a discussion site for the topic here somewhere, soon. (Even 10 years is soon on a generational scale.)
